Sherry L. Bracken - Board of Governor
Sherry Bracken hosts the weekly interview program Island Conversations on the New West Broadcasting radio stations, also posted as podcasts wherever podcasts are available. She also reports news for the company and provides daily event updates. Ms. Bracken formerly was with Mahalo Broadcasting, hosting the weekly interview program Island Issues for 15 years and hosting the Community Corner event updates. She is also a contributing reporter for Hawaii Public radio.
Ms. Bracken also works as a forum moderator, especially political forums, and event Master of Ceremonies. Since 1998 she has hosted more than 100 forums of various types.
Sherry is a member of the Hawai’i Island Women’s Hall of Fame and has been recognized for her work by the Hawai’i State Senate, Governor Neil Abercrombie, and Kona Rotary Mauka. In 2017 she was named the State of Hawai’i Small Business Advocate for Media & Journalism.
Prior to moving to Hawai’i, Sherry worked for the Bell System (South Central Bell, Pacific Bell, AT&T), and then did sales and marketing consulting with The Kappa Group. She and her husband moved to Hawaii Island in 1994.
