Tony Takai - Japanese Secretary
One of the reasons that my wife and I decided to reside in Kailua-Kona was due to the wealth of Japanese culture and customs. As I was born and raised in Japan, it is a very important facet in my life. I believe in making a difference for our community, especially younger generations.
I have been involved in many organizations. To name a few, I serve on the Board of Directors for Daifukuji Temple, am a charter member and on the BOD of Kiwanis Club of Kailua-Kona, a member and an ambassador of Kona Kohala Chamber of Commerce, a member of Kona United Methodist Church, and a member and on the BOD of Kona Fukuoka Kenjinkai. Recently I attended the 10th Worldwide Fukuoka Kenjinkai Convention in Fukuoka, Japan as a delegate.
I want to make sure that I can make a difference for JCCK. Since I am involved in many activities and events, my time is getting stretched out. Probably, I will sacrifice my interests and hobbies more. I enjoy golfing twice a week, socializing with friends, and my wife and I have been traveling abroad frequently.
